    Job Summary:

    Receive and review information received from various sources i.e. attorneys, auto insurance carriers, the hospitals and practices, courts, record retrieval companies. Review all systems and apply workflow established for the specific team.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • None.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Liability/Attorney rep Team – Reviews and maintains follow up on accounts attorney represented, third party liability, PIP/Med Pay. Including negotiating settlements with attorneys/insurance reps and assuring billing and medical record requests are fulfilled.
    • Bankruptcy Team - Verifies Bankruptcy information through the various websites and court systems. Close/document various systems according to established workflow. Requests Proof of Claims filed with the court when necessary. Maintain follow up on cases until Discharged/Dismissal.
    • Deceased Patient Team - Verifies Date of Death and estate information through the various websites and court systems. Close/document various systems according to established workflow.
    • Admin Support Team – Supports all teams in the SBO Legal department by completing correspondence requests. Create and complete Affidavits. Scanning correspondence and enclosures to related account. Completes monthly reports as assigned by management.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos, including legal documents and correspondence. Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • Must be articulate and able to use proper grammar. Must be articulate and able to use proper grammar.
    • Must be able to maneuver within multiple programs
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving severalconcrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to understand and
      apply federal and state laws as applicable.

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Post-high school level in English, spelling, keyboarding, computers, business, or office practices. Experience in a legal and/or insurance setting is preferable.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
