    Job Description

    MEDIA BUYER/PLANNER

     

    STRATEGY/PLANNING/BUYING

    o STRATEGY

    · Able to build out a strategic game-plan for client approval

    · Looking at Competitive/Pulling Competitive regularly as need to review trends

    · Helping outline preferred budgets/flighting/pulses/hiatus

    · Ability to use GRPs/Ratings, Reach & Frequency, CPMs, CPP to help with strategy to hit goals

    · Looking at trends from similar client’s/times of year to help inform decisions

    · Ability to Take advantage of the marketplace for certain stations/dayparts/programming to

    · Strategically laying out plans for execution, but also to ensure plans deliver to desired client goals & not under-deliver

    · Ability to use PowerPoint to help with client ready slides showing/explaining strategic approach

     

    o PLANNING

    · Helping develop media plans buys as needed

    · Providing recommended stations/daypart mix/length mix

    · Being able to multitask & move quickly to make changes changes/multiple plans

    · Working with buyers concerning available inventory/rates

    · Working with Client Service or Sales team to have clear communication concerning how to build a media plan

    · Leverage DR knowledge/media knowledge/MDG internal tools to help build plans

    · Be a team player & open to suggestions/changes as needed

    · Ability to learn/know planning platform to build plans

    · Potentially planning CTV/OTT buys

     

    o BUYING

    · The ability to buy & negotiate a few stations as needed (or back-up a buyer with more responsibility when a buyer is out of the office)

    · Maintaining/balancing clearance sheets to hit client’s weekly budget goals

    · Able to look at data in core/tableau to see what is working for optimization recommendations/optimizations/testing & new ideas. (& providing Client Service with weekly notes)

    · Understanding different client’s KPI to help negotiate pricing for individual stations

    · Building a working relationship with other buyers to works as a team

    · Potential being the lead buyer for an account(s)

    · Working with Client Service team with clear communication so, they can relay any information/updates about buying back to the client

    · Updates regularly on stations & marketplace conditions

    · Negotiate sponsorships & upfront/general buys
