    Job Title: Media Room Attendant (Temporary)

    Location: Texas Renaissance Festival, Todd Mission, TX

    Job Type: Temporary, October 2024 - December 8, 2024

    Pay Rate: $13 per hour

    Hours: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, possibility of overtime.

    About Us: At the Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission, TX, we are dedicated to providing a vibrant and immersive experience for our guests and media partners. Our Media Room is a crucial part of our press operations, and we are seeking a temporary Media Room Attendant to ensure its smooth functioning during our festival season. To align with our festival’s unique theme, we require all staff to dress in 16th Century Aesthetic attire.

    Position Overview: The Media Room Attendant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the Media Room, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting media representatives and guests. This temporary role requires a blend of administrative skills, physical readiness, and the ability to manage interactions with various stakeholders effectively. No prior experience is necessary, though customer service and reception experience is preferred. Additionally, adherence to our 16th Century Aesthetic attire is required to maintain the festival’s immersive atmosphere.

    Key Responsibilities:

    · Media Room Preparation: Set up and arrange the Media Room daily to ensure it is ready for use, including light lifting (less than 50 lbs.) for equipment or materials. This includes arranging seating, setting up refreshments, and ensuring all equipment is operational.

    · Receptionist Duties: Greet media representatives and guests, check them in, and provide necessary information or materials. Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.

    · Gatekeeping: Manage access to the Media Room, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed entry. Handle situations involving undesirables or unauthorized personnel with tact and professionalism.

    · Basic Administrative Tasks: Perform general administrative duties such as managing schedules, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining records. Assist with preparing and distributing press materials and other relevant documents.

    · Customer Service: Address inquiries or concerns from media representatives and guests, offering assistance as needed to ensure a positive experience for all attendees.

    · Equipment and Supply Management: Monitor and replenish supplies, including refreshments and office supplies. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any issues to the appropriate department.

    Qualifications:

    · High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in office administration or hospitality is a plus.

    · No prior experience necessary; however, customer service and reception experience is preferred.

    · Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs as needed.

    · Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.

    · Comfortable interacting with media representatives and handling gatekeeping responsibilities.

    · Basic proficiency with office software and equipment.

    · Special Requirement: Must wear 16th Century Aesthetic attire to align with the festival’s theme and enhance the immersive experience for guests.
