    SUMMARY Supports instructional technology systems in classrooms, auditoriums, and other venues as required. Provides direct support to ITS customers with installed ITS equipment, presentation software, learning management system, and video communications platform.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Operate, maintain, and support Microsoft Windows–based instructional systems throughout the Law School, both in person and remotely from the ITS office. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions.

    Provide training and technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students in the use of instructional equipment and software. Demonstrate core functionality of platforms such as Brightspace (D2L), Zoom, and iClicker to support effective teaching and learning.

    Perform administrative support functions, including answering phones and email, scheduling equipment and service requests, maintaining office calendars, and providing information regarding ITS policies and procedures.

    Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on instructional and audiovisual equipment, including component replacement at teaching stations. Assist with the installation and configuration of new equipment and systems.

    Utilize and support a variety of software and systems, including VNC, Microsoft Office, Zoom, RingCentral, 25Live, Brightspace (D2L), and related instructional technologies.

    Provide support for campus events, seminars, and academic programs in auditoriums and other venues. Set up and operate microphones, manage sound systems, operate mounted cameras, and self-direct and record video as needed.

    Adhere to and uphold the Law School’s Customer Service Standards in all interactions with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.

    Must be able to work weekends and a flex schedule as needed. Ability to organize and keep accurate records. Ability to operate video, audio, and computer equipment. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Must be professional and confidential with all department data and correspondence. Must have a thorough Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows OS, D2L, and Zoom video conferencing required. Mac OS and LMS experience preferred. Able to make sound decisions and work independently with minimal supervision. Able to interact, assist, and communicate with diverse groups with varying levels of technical knowledge.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred. IT related Experience preferred.


    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Must possess outstanding customer service attitude and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to perform basic math essentials

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to define routine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to solve routine problems and/or deal with a variety of variables in situations, especially when the department head may be out of the office or unavailable. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. Regular lifting of up to 35 pounds from floor level, at the waist, and above the shoulders is required. Frequent bending, crawling and stooping are necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision in order to accurately input data and proofread; distance vision in order to recognize and assist visitors to the department.
