    Work Hours (24 hours)

      • 10 AM-4 PM, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
      • 1 PM- 7 PM, Tuesday
      • Off, Thursday
      • May be required by VDH to adjust work hours, location, and job duties

    JOB DUTIES

    • Perform a variety of clinical and non-clinical tasks to assist the professional nursing and medical staff
    • Provides support to the clinics by maintaining patient flow
    • Takes anthropomorphic and other appropriate measurements; records accurate information; documents patient charts promptly using approved VDH format
    • Calls patients to exam rooms; prepares and cleans examination rooms and equipment; assists clinicians with physical examinations and keeps pace with the clinicians and nurses
    • Informs senior staff of patient’s condition change
    • Performs physical measurements on patients in accordance with VDH policies and procedures; performs vision/hearing screenings when appropriate
    • May be required to perform phlebotomy and collect approved specimens under the direct supervision of a licensed Nurse Practitioner/Physician.
    • Participates with staff in program evaluation for all assigned programs and significant activities; ensures efficient, quality service and desired program outcomes
    • Completes cross training when scheduled and demonstrates proficiency in staffing coverage for any assigned work location when competency is achieved; complies with all policies and procedures
    • Maintains logs and records to comply with policies and procedures
    • Participates in community outreach activities, assists with preparing educational displays and assists with health services on mobile health unit
    • Orders supplies, maintains levels and stocks exam rooms
    • Operates and maintains lab equipment
    • Cleans clinic exam rooms and maintains aseptic environment daily
