Job Summary
We are seeking a Back Office Medical Assistant to join our team!
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Back Office Medical Assistant with 1+ years of experience in back officeoperations. Proven track record of efficiently managing medical records, coordinating appointments, and streamlining administrative processes, enhancing operational efficiency and patient satisfaction within a healthcare setting. Dedicated and compassionate Back Office Medical Assistant with proven experience in providing comprehensive support to medical staff and delivering high-quality patient care. Skilled in coordinating clinical workflows, accurately documenting patient records inEHR systems (e.g., Epic), and performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and administering injections. Seeking to leverage strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced medical practice to ensure seamless and efficient patient care.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Document patient communications, including follow-up on test results and procedure instructions.
Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs
Assist nurses and doctors with basic medical care and procedures
Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties
Handle referrals to specialists and obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies.
Coordinate with the front office team to manage patient flow and follow up on missed appointments.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical charting, and EHR systems is essential.
Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant required
Excellent customer service skills
Strong attention to detail
Bilingual in English and Spanish
2-4 years experience back office
