    IntelliRad Imaging is a well-established hospital-based radiology group practicing in Miami-Dade and Broward county. We are seeking to fill a full-time medical assistant role. The hours of this position are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on-site in our Plantation office.

    We are seeking a skilled and compassionate BILINGUAL (Spanish/English) Telehealth Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team, specifically focusing on pre-surgical patients seeking consultation with our interventional and neurointerventional radiology providers. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality care to patients through telehealth services. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and phone skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent patient support in a virtual healthcare environment.

    This position will work from our clinic/office at HCA Florida Westside Hospital where the medical assistant works alongside our nurse practitioner to do patient intakes on telehealth patients.

    Responsibilities:

    Patient Communication and Preparation:

    • Facilitate telehealth appointments for pre-surgical patients scheduled for Interventional and Neurointerventional Radiology procedures.
    • Provide clear instructions to patients regarding telehealth platforms, ensuring they are comfortable and prepared for virtual consultations.
    • Answer incoming clinic telephone calls

    Medical Documentation:

    • Collect and update patient medical histories, medications, and relevant information to assist the Interventional and Neurointerventional Radiology provider in making informed decisions.
    • Document patient interactions during telehealth appointments accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health records system (eClinicalWorks - eCW).

    Coordination of Care:

    • Collaborate with the Interventional and Neurointerventional Radiology providers, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
    • Assist in coordinating pre-surgical testing and procedures as directed by the healthcare team.

    Patient Education:

    • Educate patients on pre-surgical preparations, post-surgical care, and any necessary lifestyle modifications.
    • Provide resources and answer patient queries regarding the Interventional and Neurointerventional Radiology procedures.

    Technical Support:

    • Troubleshoot and assist patients with technical issues related to virtual consultations, ensuring a smooth and effective telehealth experience.

    Compliance and Quality Assurance:

    • Adhere to healthcare regulations and standards, maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy during all telehealth interactions.
    • Participate in quality assurance initiatives to improve the delivery of telehealth services.

    Qualifications:

    • Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution.
    • Relevant certification (CMA, RMA) preferred.
    • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in Interventional Radiology or a related field.
    • Familiarity with telehealth platform e-clinical works (ECW).
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
