A busy and successful family practice is sourcing for an experienced Medical Assistant to assist the doctors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
- Also, medical assistants may be called upon to perform basic clinical tasks, such as administering medications, phlebotomy, and assisting with physical examinations and patient education.
- You may also be answering telephones, greeting patients, updating and filing patients' medical records, filling out insurance forms, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services, and handling billing and bookkeeping.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- Associates Degree in Medical Assistant or a relevant and related professional area.
- 2-4 years of previous experience.
- Candidate must be well presented, speak clearly and be of a warm and friendly demeanor with both co-workers and patients.
