Work Schedule

• Primary hours: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
• The schedule may occasionally flex to 7:30 AM–4:00 PM based on operational needs.
• Some extended hours may be required during peak periods, such as flu season.

Travel Requirements

This position includes some local travel. The team supports several Henry Ford Health Medical Office Buildings (MOBs) with flu immunization clinics and regulatory fit-testing requirements. Employees may be required to travel to various HFH locations to support these services as needed.

What You Will Do

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Obtain and record accurate medical histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, assisting providers as needed.
• Perform administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the clinical team.
• Contribute to a compassionate and patient-centered care experience.

Qualifications

** EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred.
• Ability to problem-solve preferred. Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.
• Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA/CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Associations Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), and National Center for Competency Testing National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) preferred.

** Additional Requirements:**

Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR

Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR

Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR

Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR

Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.

** CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:**

• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation.
