Pediatric Cardiology practice in Live Oak is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is a positive, pro-active self starter with excellent organizational and clinical skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs front desk duties like answering phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, confirming patient appointments, insurance prior authorizations etc.
- Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
- Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs and weight.
- Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
- Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Records tests and examination results in patient's chart.
- Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Perform other related duties as directed or required.
Minimum requirements:
One year experience minimum as a medical assistant, pediatric experience preferred.
Highly proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office, Practice Management Software, and Electronic Medical Records.
Experience with Athena EMR a plus
Bilingual a plus
