Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) to support our providers and patients in an outpatient primary care setting. This role is essential to maintaining smooth clinical workflows, ensuring accurate documentation, and creating a welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our doors. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and thrives in a team-based clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Room patients and obtain vital signs, height, weight, and BMI.

Accurately document chief complaints, medical histories, medications, and allergies.

Assist providers with examinations and minor procedures.

Administer injections and vaccines per protocol (if certified).

Perform CLIA-waived point-of-care testing.

Prepare and stock exam rooms while maintaining infection-control standards.

Document care in the electronic health record (EHR) and assist with scheduling, referrals, and follow-up.

Provide respectful, culturally responsive care to a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or GED.

Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent hands-on experience.

CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with providers and staff.

Preferred:

CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.

Bilingual English/Spanish.

Scope of Practice

The Medical Assistant works under provider supervision in accordance with New Mexico regulations and clinic policies. This role does not independently diagnose, prescribe, or create treatment plans.
