Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will be preparing for patient visits by preparing charts and pulling notes, reviewing refill requests, triaging faxes, submitting prior authorization requests, and being a strong team member. You will also be helping manage the inventory of medical supplies, setting up computers, and cleaning instruments and rooms as needed. The ideal candidate has strong bedside manners, an interest in learning more about a working medical environment, and has previous nephrology office experience.
Responsibilities
Prepare for the patient visit, including pulling charts and notes
Greet patients, take vital signs, review medications and record in medical record
Answer phones and triage questions properly
Set up exam rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs
Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle office duties
Monitor your own productivity to identify opportunities for improvement
Follow instructions, policies and procedures
Participate in daily tasks and be a strong team player
Address patient, physician, and staff concerns and escalate accordingly
Adhere to all infection prevention standards, department policies and guidelines
Qualifications
BLS Certification preferred
Certified Medical Assistant preferred
Excellent customer service skills
Strong attention to detail
