Role Overview

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality and compassionate care to our patients. Working under the supervision of providers and nursing leadership, you will perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to ensure a seamless patient experience. Your contributions will directly support providers in delivering exceptional care, making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes and satisfaction.

What You Will Do

• Greet and escort patients to the exam room, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
• Obtain and document accurate medical histories from patients.
• Measure and record vital signs, preparing patients for examinations or procedures.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Perform administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the clinical setting.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred.
• Ability to problem-solve preferred. Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.
• Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA/CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Associations Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), and National Center for Competency Testing National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) preferred.

** Additional Requirements:**

Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR

Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR

Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR

Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR

Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.

** CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:**

• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation
