Shift Hours:

M-F 7:00 am - 5:00 pm - No weekends or holidays

Location: 5250 Auto Club Dr, Dearborn Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY: As a Medical Assistant in our Otolaryngology department, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional, compassionate patient care. Working collaboratively with our providers and nursing leadership, you'll combine clinical expertise with genuine patient engagement to create a positive healthcare experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welcome patients with professionalism and warmth, then guide them through the clinic experience and prepare exam rooms for optimal patient care
• Gather comprehensive medical histories and document patient information accurately in our electronic medical record system
• Obtain and record vital signs with precision, recognizing and communicating any abnormalities to clinical leadership
• Prepare patients thoroughly for examinations and procedures, explaining what to expect to reduce anxiety and enhance comfort
• Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures, demonstrating clinical competency and attention to detail
• Execute a diverse range of clinical and administrative tasks that support quality patient outcomes and efficient clinic operations
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication to navigate the dynamic demands of an ambulatory care setting

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

One of the following:

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hours minimum), OR

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with a minimum of one year of clinical medical assisting experience within the past five years, OR

• Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of clinical experience, OR

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR

• Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one year of clinical experience within the past five years, OR

• Military-trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience within the past five years

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES PREFERRED:

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience
• Strong problem-solving and clinical reasoning abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to perform a variety of clinical skills in an ambulatory care setting

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current BLS-C certification upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation
