We’re looking for a Part-Time Medical Assistant to support both administrative and clinical functions in a dynamic healthcare environment. The Medical Assistant will provide a combination of administrative and clinical support in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role requires the ability to multitask under pressure, maintain professionalism in high-stress situations, and deliver excellent customer service to patients and staff.
Responsibilities
Greet patients upon arrival and assist with check-in
Collect and verify patient contact information and insurance details
Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, take messages, and respond to emails
Submit insurance forms and follow up with insurance providers regarding coverage
Schedule new and follow-up appointments
Update, file, and maintain patients’ medical records
Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies are stocked; reorder as needed
Assist with clinical procedures and examinations
Take and record patient medical histories and vital signs
Prepare patients for examinations and assist the provider during visits
Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies
Uphold a high standard of professionalism, courtesy, and customer service
Utilize electronic medical records and other computer programs efficiently
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate degree in a medical or healthcare-related field (preferred)
1–2 years of experience in a healthcare practice, clinic, or hospital
Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and general computer applications
Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks
