    Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Uptown is searching to hire a Patient Care Technician in our PACU department. Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 hour days.

    Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Uptown provides a wide range of medical and surgical services for to the greater North Texas area across 8 ORs, 24 private Inpatient rooms, a full-service ED. The hospital specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties.

    Job Summary:

    The patient care assistant assist in activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to patients and assist in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

    • Performs Phlebotomy
    • Performs EKG per doctor’s orders
    • Obtains vital signs and documents
    • Stocks units with supplies
    • Cleans and turns over bays/rooms
    • Assist patients with ambulation
    • Assist in placing patients in rooms/bays
    • Assist nursing staff
    • Assist in registration of patients
    • Strong clerical and clinical background
    • Strong time management skills.

    Required Skills

    • High School graduate or higher.
    • Current certification in BLS
    • Experience as a Medical Assistant in a doctor's office is preferred
    • Strong background in medical terminology
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Good Organization habits
    • Phlebotomy certification preferred
    • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient

    Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • High School graduate or higher.
    • Current certification in BLS
    • Experience as a Medical Assistant in a doctor's office is preferred
