Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will prepare for patient visits by organizing charts and reviewing notes prior to arrival, provide routine support to nurses and medical staff, and perform phlebotomy procedures as needed. You will assist in tracking tests and lab reports to ensure timely results and maintain clear communication with patients regarding their care.
Additionally, you will help manage medical supply inventory, set up equipment and machines for procedures, and maintain cleanliness of instruments and examination rooms. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, experience with blood draws, and an interest in working in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare for patient visits by pulling charts, reviewing notes, and setting up medical equipment
Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture and specimen collection
Properly label, process, and prepare laboratory specimens for transport
Track lab results and ensure timely follow-up
Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment after use
Answer phones and address patient questions, identifying visit needs
Assist nurses and physicians with basic medical care and procedures
Call in prescriptions and perform general medical office duties
Maintain inventory of medical supplies
Qualifications
BLS Certification required
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
Phlebotomy certification or demonstrated experience in blood draws required
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Previous medical office experience preferred
