Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist
Best Medical Center Location: Miami & Hialeah, FL Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
Best Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist to support our providers and help maintain efficient patient flow. This position plays an important role in patient care, including triage, EMR documentation, laboratory services, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.
The selected candidate must be able and willing to work at both our Miami and Hialeah office locations based on scheduling and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor the EMR and daily schedule to identify checked-in patients and maintain efficient patient flow.
Escort patients from the waiting area to triage and examination rooms.
Complete patient intake, including obtaining and documenting vital signs, height, weight, medications, allergies, and relevant medical history.
Accurately enter and update patient information in the EMR.
Prepare patients and examination rooms for provider evaluations.
Collect and process laboratory specimens as ordered by providers.
Assist patients presenting for laboratory services only.
Assist providers with examinations and procedures within the Medical Assistant's scope of practice.
Clean, disinfect, restock, and maintain examination rooms and clinical supplies.
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA, infection control, and workplace safety requirements.
Communicate effectively with providers, front desk staff, and patients to support quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.
Prioritize patient flow throughout the day to help minimize wait times.
Review the following day's schedule in the EMR at the end of each workday. Confirm each patient has a documented reason for the visit, appointments are scheduled appropriately, and any missing information or scheduling discrepancies are identified for correction.
Perform other duties as assigned by management or providers.
Qualifications
Current Medical Assistant certification required.
Current Phlebotomy certification required.
Previous medical office or clinical experience preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour, increasing to $18.00 per hour after successful completion of the 90-day introductory period.
