Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant with experience in a surgery center setting to support clinical and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will assist physicians and nursing staff in providing high-quality patient care, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for surgical procedures, including obtaining vital signs and medical history
Assist physicians and nurses during pre-operative and post-operative care
Maintain sterile and safe clinical environments in accordance with infection control guidelines
Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
Perform basic clinical tasks such as wound care, dressing changes, and specimen collection
Monitor patients pre- and post-procedure and report any changes to clinical staff
Ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Schedule patient appointments and coordinate surgical procedures
Verify patient information, consent forms, and insurance details
Maintain inventory of medical and surgical supplies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Minimum 3yrs to 5yrs of experience in a surgery center or outpatient surgical setting
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (through the American Heart Association)
Knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and patient care protocols
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
