    Job Summary

    We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will be preparing for each patient visit by preparing charts before their arrival, providing routine support alongside nurses and medical staff, and assisting with keeping track of tests and lab reporting to ensure everything arrives on time and the patient is kept informed on their condition and care. You will also be helping manage the inventory of medical supplies, setting up machines and testing equipment, and cleaning instruments and rooms as needed. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, an interest in learning more about a working medical environment, and has previous office experience.

    Responsibilities

    Greet and room patients; record chief complaint and medical history, and collect vitals.

    Update and maintain accurate patient medical records and medication lists for physician review.

    Enter laboratory orders and perform specimen collections, including phlebotomy.

    Assist providers during examinations, in-office procedures, and specimen collections.

    Perform and document rapid in-office tests (e.g., nasopharyngeal and throat swabs).

    Maintain and clean exam rooms, instruments, and supplies.

    Ensure accurate documentation within the EHR/EMR system, following all compliance and billing requirements.

    Uphold clinic standards of safety, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA, Medicare Fraud & Abuse, and DOT procedures.

    Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs

    Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties

    Qualifications

    Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or completion of an accredited certification program.

    Experience with phlebotomy and laboratory collection procedures.

    Strong organizational and time management skills; able to multitask effectively.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Professional, service-oriented, and attentive to patient needs.

    Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records.

    Preferred but not required: CNA, CMA, or LPN certification.

    Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team environment.
