Tuesday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

GENERAL SUMMARY

As a Medical Assistant at Templin Family Practice, you will be the cornerstone of our patient experience, working collaboratively with our providers and nursing leadership to deliver quality, compassionate care. You will take on a dynamic mix of administrative and clinical responsibilities that directly impact patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with professionalism and warmth, creating a positive first impression while efficiently escorting them to exam rooms
• Conduct thorough patient intake by obtaining comprehensive medical histories that support accurate clinical assessment
• Accurately measure, record, and communicate vital signs, ensuring data integrity for clinical decision-making
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, explaining processes to reduce anxiety and enhance patient comfort
• Provide direct clinical support to providers during patient examinations and procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining a smooth workflow

Qualifications

** EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred.
• Ability to problem-solve preferred. Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred.
• Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA/CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Associations Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), and National Center for Competency Testing National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) preferred.

** Additional Requirements:**

Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR

Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR

Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR

Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR

Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.

** CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:**

• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation.
