Welcome to Total Patient Care, located in the Shore Area in Brick, New Jersey. We are a renowned Internal Medicine and Family Medicine (18 and over) practice that is known for providing the level of individualized healthcare and attention our patients deserve. Our team is proud to deliver expert and compassionate care for a wide range of health conditions and health services including Hypertension, Diabetes, Thyroid Disease, Hyperlipidemia, School and Work Physicals, Preventative Medicine, Immunization Updates for Adults and Adolescents, Sick Visits, Complete Annual Physical Exam, and Lab services. Our medical team is led by 5 experienced physicians and medical professionals: Lorena Alonzo-Chafart, DO, Asim Gilani, MD, Ninfa Alcasid, MD, Shannon Macrina ANP-C, Johana Torres ANP-C, and a patient-focused clinical staff all working together to make Total Patient Care a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for each and every patient we serve.
Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring seamless patient care and supporting our clinical team with daily operations. The Medical Assistant will prepare patient charts, organize documentation, assist with examinations and procedures, and help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, a high level of accountability, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced medical setting. A strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to patient-centered care are critical for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare for patient visits by organizing charts, updating patient notes, and ensuring readiness prior to arrival
Set up medical equipment, exam rooms, and supplies needed for daily visits
Assist physicians with routine care, examinations, and in-office procedures
Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain a safe, orderly clinical environment
Manage and monitor medical supply inventory and communicate restocking needs
Track and follow up on laboratory tests, ensuring timely receipt and communication of results to patients
Call in prescriptions, document patient interactions, and perform general clinical administrative tasks
Answer incoming calls, address patient questions, and properly triage needs
Support smooth patient flow while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
Qualifications
BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant (a must)
1-3 year experience preferred
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high professional standards
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Accountability in completing tasks and following established protocols
Previous experience in a medical or office environment is a plus
