About the Role:
Xpress Pediatrics in Pikesville, MD is looking for a compassionate and energetic Medical Assistant to join our dedicated pediatric care team! Responsibilities:
Assist physicians and clinical staff with pediatric patient examinations and procedures
Record and update patient medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints in the EMR system
Administer vaccinations, injections, and medications as directed by the provider
Prepare and maintain clean, stocked exam rooms between patient visits
Perform routine clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, specimen collection, and rapid diagnostic testing
Communicate with patients and families in a warm, professional, and age-appropriate manner
Support front office functions including scheduling, check-in, and insurance verification as needed
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) preferred
Prior experience in a pediatric, urgent care, or outpatient clinical setting is a plus
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Strong phlebotomy and clinical skills with attention to detail
Excellent bedside manner with the ability to connect with children and anxious parents
Ability to multitask and remain calm in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
