About the Role:

IOU Billing Services in Montgomery, NY is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Biller & Eligibility Specialist to join their growing team. Responsibilities:

Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers, including commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payers

Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to and during the billing cycle

Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments through appeals and follow-up

Post payments, adjustments, and patient balances accurately in billing software

Communicate with insurance companies, providers, and patients to resolve billing inquiries

Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims in a timely manner

Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and payer-specific billing guidelines

Requirements:

1–3 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or eligibility verification for Mental Health required

1-3 years of proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) Advanced MD required

Work hours 11am-7pm and some weekends

Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing processes

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

CPC, CPB, or related billing/coding certification is a plus
