Agape is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Biller/Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position is full-time in our Parkville office. The ideal candidate will have experience in clerical duties, customer service, billing for mental health companies, and office management. This position offers the opportunity to work in a professional environment and contributes to the smooth operation of our office and billing processes. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who can multi-task, learn quickly, and adapt easily. Responsibilities:
Review and verify the accuracy of billing data and correct any errors
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframes Utilize medical coding to ensure compliance with federal regulations
Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing issues
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information
Experience:
Proven experience in medical billing, medical records, and coding
Familiarity with medical terminology, DRG, ICD-10, and medical collection practices
Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
Greet and assist visitors in a professional and friendly manner
Answer and direct phone calls promptly and efficiently
Perform clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry
Manage office supplies inventory and place orders when necessary
Assist with scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and emails
Provide administrative support to staff as needed
Maintain a clean and organized reception area
Perform outreach as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a mental health office or similar setting
Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail
Proficient in using office equipment such as printers, copiers, and fax machines
Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office is required
