    ABOUT SUNSHINE PHYSICAL THERAPY CLINIC Sunshine Physical Therapy Clinic is a non-profit outpatient clinic located in Vero Beach, FL. Since 1953, we have provided services to people of all ages regardless of their insurance or ability to pay. POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Biller to manage the full cycle of billing and collections. This role is essential to sustaining our mission by ensuring accurate claims processing, timely reimbursement, and a positive patient experience. The Medical Biller is responsible for accurately preparing, submitting, and following up on paper medical claims to insurance companies and patients. In addition, the Medical Biller will manage the electronic billing processes of our third-party biller, Qualifacts. This role maintains compliance with healthcare regulations, and supports the financial health of the clinic by minimizing claim denials and maximizing collections.

    Key Responsibilities  Oversee third-party billing process; manage daily claims issues in partnership with third- party biller to resolve issues promptly  Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance carriers (carve-outs only); follow up on denied or unpaid claims  Ensure proper use of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes  Collaborate with staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation  Post EOBs to patient accounts; track overpayment debits and capitated plan credits  Manage insurance aging issues  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer requirements and billing regulations, including current fee schedules  Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations Qualifications  5+ years of medical billing experience (outpatient or clinic setting preferred)  Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes  Experience with EMR and billing systems; experience with InSync/Qualifacts a bonus  Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans  Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through  Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
