Join our multidisciplinary clinic as a Medical Billing Specialist responsible for end-to-end billing for ABA, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy services. You’ll ensure accurate coding, timely claim submission, denial management, and clean reimbursement processes to support excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
Submit and track claims for ABA, Speech, and OT; ensure proper CPT/ICD-10 coding.
Verify patient benefits, determine eligibility, obtain authorizations, and manage payer portals.
Review charts for documentation and coding accuracy; correct and resubmit denied or underpaid claims; handle appeals as needed.
Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on unpaid claims, and coordinate with front office for patient collection when appropriate.
Reconcile payments, post payments, and prepare monthly financial reports.
Maintain accurate patient billing records; ensure HIPAA compliance and data integrity.
Collaborate with clinicians and front desk to resolve billing questions and improve processes.
Stay current with payer policy changes and local/national billing guidelines.
Qualifications:
2+ years of medical billing experience in ABA, Speech, OT, or pediatric therapy settings.
Proficient in CPT/ICD-10 coding, payer rules, and claims submission processes.
Experience with claim denials/appeals and patient balance follow-up.
Familiarity with practice management software and MS Excel; strong data-entry skills.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities; team player.
Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy practices.
