    Position:

    Medical Consultant Reviewer On-Call

    Internal Medicine or Family Practitioner (D.C., Maryland, Virginia)

    Our Medical Affairs team is looking for a part-time (less than 20 hour per week) Medical Consultant Reviewer.

    This person will need to have a medical license in the District of Columbia or attain one after hire. Comagine can guide you through this process.

    Our Medical Affairs team, consisting of 30 physicians/dentists and a network of over 35 physician consultants, provides medical review, quality of care oversight, and consultation for various contracts with government and private sector benefit programs. In collaboration with our clients, we develop and implement review criteria to ensure patients get evidence-based care at the right time. In this role, you would:

    1. Apply clinical judgment, evidenced-based medicine, and other resources to render timely decisions on utilization reviews.

    2.. Provide appropriate and timely subject matter expertise and other support to clinical reviewers, case managers, and consultants.

    3. Ensure that reviews meet standard(s) for clarity of decision-making.

    Qualifications

    M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited university.

    Active District of Columbia medical license.

    Minimum 10 years of clinical experience.

    Board Certification in one or more of the following:

    Internal Medicine

    Family Medicine

    Emergency Medicine

    Experience as a hospitalist or geriatrician is helpful.

    Previous utilization review experience preferred.

    Competencies

    · Possess the qualifications, as determined by the National Medical Director or designee, to render clinical opinions about the medical conditions, procedures, and/or treatments under review.

    · Basic MS Office Suite proficiency

    · Excellent writing and communication skills

    Hourly Rate Range:

    $120 - $135 / HR.
