    ENERGY ENGINEER

     

    JOB SUMMARY

    Medical Facilities Solutions, MFS has an immediate opening for an Energy Engineer.  This enterprise-wide position is responsible for contributing to and executing on the multi-year energy & water strategy.  This position leads a multi-departmental working group that will focus on priorities such as: energy use/conservation goal setting, reduction / elimination of combustion sources, energy systems efficiency studies and projects, building and system modernization with a focus on reliability and efficiency, employee engagement campaigns with an energy conservation objective, power resiliency strategies, infrastructure upgrade planning and renewable energy evaluation and planning. energy and water conservation implementiion strategies from the outcome of the energy efficiency studies.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION:

    Minimum: Bachelor's degree in engineering such as electrical, mechanical or related engineering field.

    Preferred: Master’s degree in related engineering field or MBA.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    MINIMUM:

    Five (5) years of progressively responsible directly related work experience.

     

     

    PREFERRED:

    Experience working in a healthcare environment, preferably within the Environment of Care or Joint Commission related function

    Experience managing projects with OSHPD

     

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

    PREFERRED:

    One of the following:

    ·        Certified Energy Manager

    ·        Certified Energy Auditor

    ·        LEED-AP

    ·        Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP)

     

     

     

     

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

     

    These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or licensure/certification.

     

    ·        Experience creating, evaluating and awarding RFPs for engineering services

    ·        Understanding of the drivers to decarbonize the energy footprint of buildings

    ·        Demonstrated leadership experience

    ·        Fluency in reading MEP drawings

    ·        Effective leadership of cross-functional teams

    ·        Analytical capabilies to perform and validate energy saving calculations

    ·        Relationship building skills to liase with utility providers regarding rebate & incentive programs

    ·        Project management skils, including all aspects of planning, scoping, budgeting, scheduling, deciding technical approach, ensuring technical quality, tracking, and ensuring stated expectations are met

    ·        Technical report development skills  including summarizing project scope, calculation methodologies, key assumptions, and recommendations.

    ·        Estabished discipline to keep managers aware of project schedules and progress and providing regular time charging/budget updates as requested.

    ·        Aptitude for presenting to groups and facilitating effective discussions that encourage sharing of ideas.

    ·        Passion for staying informed about energy issues and industry trends through regular technical reading and participation in local and national professional organizations.

    ·        Intimate knowledge of Title 24 regulations

    ·        Proven ability fo track and manage budgets

    ·        Demonstrated ability to create and deliver presentations

    ·        Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing

    ·        Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.

    ·        Well-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence and integrity

    ·        Collaborative with a strong focus on teamwork.
