Job Description
Overview
Join a high-volume Core Laboratory as a Medical Lab Technician (Generalist). This role supports ED, ICU, NICU/PICU, oncology, cardiac, surgical, and inpatient services. You will rotate through Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Immunology, with assistance in Microbiology/Blood Bank workflows as needed. Ideal for candidates who enjoy fast-paced environments and multibench responsibility.
Responsibilities
Perform testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Immunology; verify and release accurate results.
Flag, document, and communicate abnormal/critical values per hospital policy.
Maintain specimen integrity; accession, label, and process samples; assist with limited phlebotomy.
Perform QC/QA, calibrations, and proficiency testing; initiate corrective action when required.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate analyzers; coordinate vendor service when needed.
Maintain supply levels and ensure clean, safe, CLIA/CAP-compliant work areas.
Support inspection readiness and assist with workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
Required:
Florida Medical Laboratory Technician license (active or in-process per state rules).
High School diploma required; Associate’s degree strongly preferred.
Certification: MLT (ASCP), AMT, CPT, or equivalent.
Solid understanding of clinical laboratory workflows.
U.S. work authorization.
Preferred / Will Train:
Prior hospital or reference lab experience preferred (will train strong clinicals or lab assistant experience).
Comfortable working multiple benches in a high-volume, high-acuity environment.
Additional Information
Compensation
Entry/1–2 yrs: $22.66–$25.72/hr
Mid/5–6 yrs: Up to $26.74/hr
Senior/10+ yrs: $27.76–$30.54/hr
Shift Differentials: Evenings +$1.45/hr | Nights +$2.50/hr
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
Relocation: Case-by-case
