Position Overview

Seeking a qualified Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a 13-week contract assignment at a critical access hospital. The ideal candidate must be capable of working independently, prioritizing tasks effectively, and delivering accurate diagnostic testing across key laboratory disciplines.

Shift & Schedule Details

• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Structure: Three 12-hour shifts per week (following the initial week of training/orientation).
• Weekly Schedule: Fills in the Thursday night shift, with opportunities to pick up additional vacant shifts.
• Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Weekend rotation (typically every 5th weekend) and holiday coverage assigned on a rotating basis.
• On-Call: None required.

Technical & Clinical Competencies

• Blood Bank: Proficient in performing Blood Bank testing.
• Phlebotomy: High proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection required.
• Microbiology: Full microbiology experience preferred; proficiency in gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures is required.
• Infection Control & Safety: Proficient with safety protocols, PPE usage, and isolation procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Graduation from an approved Medical Technology (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program.
• Autonomous Operations: Demonstrated ability to work alone, multitask efficiently, and manage workflow independently.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
