About the Role
The selected attorney will play a central role in managing a diverse caseload involving claims of medical negligence and healthcare-related liability. You will be trusted to shape case strategy from day one, work closely with clients and experts, and take a hands-on approach to the litigation lifecycle from inception through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, execute, and refine litigation strategies tailored to each case, ensuring thoughtful, efficient handling of all active matters
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and medical professionals
• Draft high-quality motions, pleadings, memoranda, discovery responses, and related filings
• Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and, when necessary, trial proceedings
• Collaborate with medical experts to evaluate case strengths, causation issues, and potential exposure
• Maintain consistent communication with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members
• Manage case files, deadlines, and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail
• Perform targeted legal research and prepare clear, well-reasoned analysis to support case strategy
Qualifications
• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active bar membership in the State of Florida
• Minimum 2+ years of experience handling medical malpractice matters (defense background highly preferred but open to plaintff-side experience as well)
• Demonstrated ability to manage a substantial litigation workload and operate both independently and collaboratively
• Excellent advocacy, writing, and analytical skills
• Proficiency with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw)
• Strong organizational discipline and commitment to accuracy
