Medical Malpractice Defense Associate

A respected and growing law firm is seeking a Medical Malpractice Defense Associate to join its Kansas City office. This role is well-suited for an experienced litigator who is looking for sophisticated defense work, meaningful responsibility, and a compensation structure that rewards performance and initiative.

The Opportunity

This position offers the chance to work on complex and high-exposure medical malpractice matters, representing healthcare providers, hospitals, and medical professionals. Associates are given hands-on responsibility and are trusted to manage cases while working closely with experienced trial attorneys.

Ideal Experience

• 4–6 years of medical malpractice defense experience
  (JD years approximately 2019–2021)
• Strong experience handling all phases of litigation, including written discovery, depositions, motion practice, expert coordination, and trial preparation
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage files independently while collaborating effectively with a team
• Admission to practice in Missouri (Kansas admission a plus)
