Massage Therapist – Medical Massage Apprenticeship
Clinical Massage Therapy (CMT)
Who We Are
Clinical Massage Therapy (CMT) is a leader in the growing medical massage field. We work alongside medical providers to help clients manage pain, recover from injury, and improve function — and we believe skilled clinical therapists are developed through mentorship, education, and practice.
Our team is made up of intuitive, curious massage therapists who want to deepen their understanding of the body and learn how to work clinically. We are constantly learning: taking continuing education courses, participating in peer-to-peer reviews, refining hands-on skills, and improving our ability to write clear, medical-grade treatment notes.
If you’re interested in medical massage but don’t yet feel “experienced enough,” this role was designed for you.
About the Role
We are seeking a licensed Massage Therapist to join our clinic through our Medical Massage Apprenticeship Program. This position is ideal for therapists who want to transition into medical massage and are motivated to learn, grow, and work through challenges with support.
You will learn how to:
Treat a client’s chief complaint using clinical reasoning
Work with physician referrals and post-injury or post-surgical cases
Integrate deep tissue, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy safely and effectively
Communicate clearly with clients about treatment goals and anatomy
Document care using supportive, easy-to-learn SOAP notes that help track progress and tell the story of each client’s healing.
No prior medical massage experience is required. A willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow is essential.
What You’ll Do
Provide customized massage therapy sessions based on a client’s chief complaint and/or physician prescription
Integrate deep tissue, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release as appropriate
Educate clients on treatment-phase care vs. maintenance-phase care
Maintain accurate and timely SOAP notes (training provided)
Build strong therapeutic relationships with clients
Work collaboratively with a supportive clinical team
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional treatment environment
Manage time effectively, starting and ending sessions as scheduled
What We’re Looking For
Current state massage therapy license and liability insurance
Interest in medical or clinical massage and a desire to continue learning
Ability or willingness to develop confidence working with muscular attachments and insertions in clinically relevant areas (hip, pelvic, inner thigh, sacral, sternal or pectoral), supported by mentorship and clear clinical protocols
Willingness to confidently and professionally explain why certain areas are treated when addressing conditions such as low back, hip, or knee pain
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Professionalism, integrity, and a high ethical standard
Compassion and a genuine desire to help people manage acute or chronic pain
Experience with medical massage techniques is helpful but not required. Mentorship and training are provided.
Schedule
Part-Time Positions Available
Every other Sunday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Weekday evenings: Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Approximately 25–28 hours per week
