About the Role:

Join Orthopaedic Surgical Specialists as a Medical Office Assistant Receptionist in Torrance, CA! This exciting role offers the opportunity to be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming environment while supporting our dedicated team in delivering exceptional orthopedic care.

Responsibilities:

Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression.

Assist with insurance verification and patient registration processes.

Assist with collection of co-pays and balances, processing payments accurately.

Manage phone calls, faxes and office text messages, scheduling appointments, and handling inquiries efficiently.

Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols.

Coordinate with medical staff, facilitating patient care and ensuring smooth office operations.

Support the team with various administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree as a "gap year" graduate is a plus.

Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patient and staff.

Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred.
