Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients in a professional and compassionate manner in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Responsible for the check in/check out process from start to finish, including collecting payments, scheduling follow-up appointments, and answering patient concerns.
Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs.
Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Provides administrative assistance to the Practice Manager as needed for various operational tasks.
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using medical scheduling software
Answer and direct incoming phone calls, taking messages and responding to inquiries
Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect co-pays at time of service
Maintain and update accurate patient records in the EMR/EHR system
Ensure the front desk and waiting area remain organized and welcoming
Requirements:
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical scheduling software
Knowledge of medical insurance verification and billing processes
Strong communication via telephone and live interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical environment
High school diploma or equivalent required; medical administrative certification a plus
Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented work ethic
Ability to be cross trained
