Position Summary: The Medical Office Receptionist is responsible for providing front-desk support in a healthcare setting. This role involves greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth daily operations of the medical office.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner
Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries appropriately
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments
Verify patient information, insurance details, and update records
Maintain and organize medical records (electronic or paper systems)
Collect co-pays and process payments
Assist with patient intake forms and documentation
Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming
Follow all privacy regulations, including HIPAA compliance
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role (preferred)
Knowledge of medical terminology (a plus)
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Basic computer and office equipment skills
