    The Bilingual Medical Receptionist/Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for ensuring patients' insurance coverage is accurately verified prior to services being rendered. This role involves contacting insurance companies, confirming eligibility and benefits, obtaining pre-authorizations or referrals, and communicating coverage details to both patients and staff. The specialist works closely with billing and clinical teams to prevent claim denials and delays in care. Strong attention to detail, understanding of various insurance plans, and experience with EHR systems are essential for success in this role.

    This is a dual role in ensuring exceptional front-desk service and accurate insurance processing in a busy medical practice. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients, managing check-ins, scheduling, and administrative support, while also being responsible for verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, obtaining authorizations, and ensuring accurate patient billing information.

    The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and experienced in both patient interaction and insurance workflows. Proficiency in eClinicalWorks (eCW) and 2–3 years of insurance verification experience are required. Bilingual (English and Spanish) REQUIRED

    JOB SUMMARY

    This role will provide essential administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of our Urgent Care Clinic. Working closely with providers and patients, the Front Desk Receptionist will manage tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication with accuracy, quality, and promptness.

    The Front Desk Receptionist should demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, empathy, and a commitment to patient care. As the first point of contact in the clinic, this position will play a crucial role in problem-solving, organization, and time management to facilitate the smooth and productive flow of the clinic.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Front Desk Receptionist job description is intended to point out major responsibilities within the role, but it is not limited to these items.

    Check patients in and out. (up to 40-70 patients a day)

    Use various computer applications (ie. Microsoft Office Suite)

    Update and file patient medical records.

    Insurance verification and obtain consent forms (Walk-In Daily).

    Verify Insurance such as Medicaid, Medicare, CHC, BCBS, Aetna, Cigna and all other In Network and Out of Network insurances.

    Collect contracted rates, deductible, and patient copay as applicable.

    Answer patients' incoming phone calls daily and timely.

    Processing patient referrals.

    Answer and route phone calls accurately and greet patients.

    Follows all organizational policies on safety and security; maintains restricted areas by safeguarding keyless entry codes and computer system passwords.

    Maintaining office inventory and equipment by anticipating supply needs and expediting supply orders.

    Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

    High school or GED equivalent REQUIRED

    Minimum of 1-year experience as a receptionist REQUIRED

    Certifications related to Medical Reception, Insurance Verification, or Billing

    Bilingual (English and Spanish) REQUIRED

    EclinicalWorks EMR Experience Preferred

    Excellent customer service skills

    Computer literacy
