About the Role:

Join our dynamic team at LONG ISLAND MEDICAL & COSMETIC DERMATOLOGY, PC as a Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant! In this vital role, you'll be the first point of contact for our patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Cross trained candidate will also be required to perform clinical duties assisting provider in rooms.

Responsibilities:

Greet patients with a friendly demeanor and assist with check-in and check-out processes.

Manage phone calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries effectively.

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Process insurance verifications and collect payments at the time of service.

Must be able to interpret insurance deductibles and coinsurances to proactively collect patient cost share.

Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and communication.

Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry.

Provide information about our services and educate patients on procedures and policies.

Support the team with any projects and initiatives as needed by management.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is a plus.

Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role within a healthcare setting.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.

Customer service-oriented with a compassionate and friendly demeanor.

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred.
