Key Responsibilities:
As a Medical Receptionist at PrimeCare, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, helping to create a welcoming and efficient experience for all. Your duties will include:
- Greeting patients and visitors: Providing a warm and professional welcome as patients arrive at the practice.
- Appointment scheduling: Scheduling patient appointments and ensuring efficient time management for providers and patients.
- Patient check-in and check-out: Verifying patient information, collecting insurance details, processing payments, and confirming upcoming appointments.
- Managing phone calls: Answering incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and routing calls to the appropriate team members.
- Medical records management: Maintaining patient records, ensuring they are up to date, and ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Facilitating communication: Serving as a liaison between patients, providers, and other staff members to ensure timely communication and coordination of care.
- Administrative support: Assisting with clerical tasks, including data entry, filing, faxing, and managing office supplies.
- Patient education: Providing patients with information about office policies, procedures, and patient care resources.
Medical Receptionist Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills , both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Customer service expertise , with the ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude in all interactions.
- Time management skills to balance a busy schedule while providing excellent patient care.
- Knowledge of office software , including word processing and scheduling programs.
- Professionalism and quality focus in all aspects of patient interactions and administrative duties.
- Flexibility and multitasking to adapt to a dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of service.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred. Knowledge of EPIC is a plus!
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
