Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to manage our busy front desk family medicine practice on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. As a Front Desk Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our company. Our Medical Receptionist’s duties include offering administrative support across the organization. You will welcome guests and greet people who visit the business. To be successful as a Medical Receptionist, you should have a pleasant personality, be able to handle difficult situations and work under pressure as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. Ultimately, a Front Desk Receptionist’s duties and responsibilities are to ensure the front desk welcomes guests positively, and executes all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
Greet patients and guests who walk through the door
Ascertain their needs and get them checked in and checked out
Insurance Eligibility
Answer the phone and schedule appointments or answer patient questions
Maintain comprehensive medical records, as needed
Collecting payments and payment reconciliation at the end of the day
Outreach for past due appointment scheduling
Verifying patient demographics are accurate and up to date in eclinical emr
Taking phone messages and sending to the appropriate staff
Listening to the voicemails and checking office emails
Scanning and faxing documents
Responsible for the Document Fax inbox that is to be done daily
Providing letters upon request
Qualifications
Must be Bilingual in English and Spanish
Strong customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills
Attention to detail
Familiarity with basic computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office
Previous medical office experience desired
Familiarity with Medical terminology
Prior emr experience
Prior use of insurance portals
