We are seeking a professional Medical Receptionist to join our team! We are a small practice that is in a beautiful office with one physician and ten staff members. You will work with collegial staff that are committed to patient care while providing a stellar patient experience. You will coordinate the flow of patients through the office, assist patients with payments, help with billing and insurance information, schedule appointments, maintain patient charts as well as various other administrative tasks.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Greet each patient in a pleasant and professional manner.
Screen calls, schedules appointments and referrals.
Take accurate, concise phone messages.
Enter complete patient demographics when making appointments.
Evaluate chart data to verify all information has been received, completed and signed.
Check out patients efficiently with a friendly demeanor.
Proactively collect patient payments.
Always treat patients with dignity and empathy.
Assist other staff as needed.
Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
Education and Experience:
High School Graduate or GED (required).
1-3 years recent experience as a Medical Receptionist in a clinical or surgical setting (preferred).
Previous experience in Dermatology (preferred)
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans
Proficiency in data entry systems
Knowledge and understanding of billing and payment procedures, rules & regulations of insurance carriers
Ability and understanding of how to use ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT codes
Ability to multitask and maintain strong attention to detail
Ability to speak clearly and concisely with pleasant attitude, and present a neat appearance
