About the Role:

Lagstein Law Firm is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Collector to join our dynamic personal injury team in Los Angeles, CA. Responsibilities:

Request, track, and obtain medical records, bills, and related documentation from hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers

Maintain organized and up-to-date records in the case management system

Follow up persistently with medical providers to ensure timely receipt of records

Review incoming records for completeness and accuracy before forwarding to attorneys

Communicate with clients, medical offices, and legal staff regarding records status

Prepare and send HIPAA-compliant authorizations and record request letters

Log and track all outstanding requests and deadlines to support case timelines

Requirements:

Prior experience in medical records retrieval, personal injury law, or a related legal/medical field preferred

Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical record request procedures

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume caseload

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite

Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to meet strict deadlines

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
