About the Role:

Hess Spine and Orthopedics LLC is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Records Coordinator to join our growing team in Fairfield, NJ. This is a vital role that keeps our practice running smoothly by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant management of patient health information. Responsibilities:

Manage the collection, organization, and maintenance of patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Process medical records requests from patients, attorneys, insurance carriers, and other healthcare providers

Accurately enter and update patient data within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system

Coordinate release of information (ROI) requests while ensuring proper authorizations are obtained

Audit medical records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards

Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely documentation and record retrieval

Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient health information at all times

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred

1-2 years of experience in medical records, health information management, or medical office administration

Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and release of information protocols

Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
