    Medical Records Specialist

    Dependable Health Services – Tucson, Arizona

    Dependable Health Services is currently seeking a dependable and organized Medical Records Specialist to join our Tucson, Arizona office. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented professional who performs well under pressure, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working independently in a busy healthcare environment.

    This position supports the agency’s clinical and administrative teams by ensuring accurate documentation, managing physician orders, and maintaining compliance with medical record requirements. The Medical Records Specialist will also have opportunities for cross-training in additional operational areas of the home health office.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Enter physician orders and submit them to physicians for required signatures

    • Track physician orders and Form 485 documentation through agency reporting systems

    • Follow up on pending orders to ensure compliance and timely processing

    • Process discharge orders and coordinate cancellation of patient schedules

    • Assemble and maintain patient medical records in accordance with agency standards

    • Cross-train in intake and authorization functions to support team operations

    • Provide courteous and professional service when answering incoming calls

    • Assist patients and families with questions and concerns

    • Coordinate patient visit scheduling and assist in tracking clinician productivity

    • Support office meetings and administrative coordination as needed

    • Monitor office and medical supply inventory and maintain adequate stock levels

    Qualifications

    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

    • Effective communication and customer service abilities

    • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team

    • Previous experience in healthcare administration, medical records, or home health preferred
