    Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Scribe to support our clinical team. The ideal candidate is a California-based professional with familiarity in medical terminology and clinical documentation. This role ensures accurate and timely charting of patient encounters, enabling providers to focus on care delivery. The position is remote, with potential on-site responsibilities if local.

    Scope of Work The Medical Scribe will work remotely to support clinical documentation for physicians at Grass Valley Radiation Oncology and CureRays. The Scribe will be responsible for real-time entry and review of patient data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR), ensuring medical accuracy, timely completion of records, and compliance with California and federal privacy regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Clinical Documentation

    Accurately transcribe live or recorded provider-patient interactions (via phone or video).

    Enter and update patient information such as medical histories, physical exams, assessment plans, and procedures in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

    Document prescribed medications, diagnostic test results, referrals, and discharge instructions as dictated by the provider.

    Apply accurate clinical terminology and approved medical abbreviations throughout all entries.

    Review and finalize patient charts promptly; flag any incomplete, inconsistent, or unclear documentation for provider attention.

    1. Quality and Compliance

    Ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA and organizational standards.

    Follow strict privacy protocols for accessing and transmitting patient information.

    Identify inconsistencies or missing elements in documentation and flag them appropriately.

    Complete records on time to support accurate billing and continuity of care.

    Requirements:

    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and reside in California.

    Proven ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team, while meeting deadlines and documentation standards.

    Attention to detail and proficiency in U.S. medical terminology and documentation practices.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills in professional English, including accurate use of medical terminology.

    Foundational understanding of health sciences and medical terminology.

    Typing speed of at least 70 WPM, with demonstrated transcription accuracy.

    Comfortable working with different provider documentation styles.

    Proficiency with EHR platforms and Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Calendar).

    Availability for both remote work and in person if local .

    HIPAA-compliant home office setup for remote work (training provided).

    Reliable personal technology, including an updated computer, webcam, noise-canceling headset, and capability to run VPN and security tools. A company laptop may be provided if needed.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Prior experience as a medical scribe, transcriptionist, or in a clinical documentation role.

    Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Cerner, EPIC or similar).

    Background in health sciences or clinical support is strongly preferred.

    Previous experience supporting U.S. healthcare providers is an asset.

    Compensation and Work Schedule Hourly Rate: $28.00

    Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)
