We are an extremely busy Oncology/Hematology private practice in need of a versatile, dependable, and team-oriented multi-tasker for the long haul.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in healthcare who has strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accurately document patient visits and physician examinations in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR)
Record patient histories, symptoms, assessments, diagnoses, orders, and treatment plans
Enter and update patient information accurately and efficiently
Assist providers with clinical documentation and administrative tasks
Review medical records for completeness and accuracy
Handling prescriptions as directed by physician
Faxing out orders (Imaging, procedures, etc.) and documenting where and date faxed in orders in the EMR by end of day
Laboratory processing for both internal and external labs as directed by physician
Maintain a clean office and organized files
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
Keep up with medical terminology, abbreviations, and documentation standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have Ability to type minimum 65 wpm accurately
Positive attitude with enthusiasm and energy, someone who smiles
Presentable, professional, and polished appearance and demeanor
Attention to detail a must
Must be flexible including working longer hours if needed
Able to multitask
Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage a large workload within tight deadlines.
Able to adapt to changes in procedures or office assignments
Spanish Speaking preferred
Experience and/or knowledge of EClinicalWorks a plus
Background in Healthcare with Medical Terminology
Certified Medical Scribe or at least 1 year of scribe experience required
