Colon Rectal Associates of Central New York is looking for an experienced, highly organized Medical Secretary / Front Desk professional to join our team in East Syracuse, NY. Responsibilities:

Greet and check in patients at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience

Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using medical scheduling software

Answer and route incoming phone calls, take messages, and respond to patient inquiries

Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect co-pays at time of service

Maintain and update accurate patient records and electronic health records (EHR)

Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and communication with other healthcare providers

Manage medical correspondence, faxes, and administrative paperwork efficiently

Requirements:

Prior experience in a medical office, front desk, or healthcare administrative role 2 + years preferred

Familiarity with medical terminology, EHR systems, and insurance verification processes

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude

Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office equipment

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a busy clinical environment

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical secretary certification a plus

Professional, reliable, and compassionate demeanor
