    Position Summary: Medical Assistant / Medical Support Specialist

    The Medical Assistant supports daily clinic operations by providing both clinical and administrative support to providers and patients. This position combines direct patient care, front-office responsibilities, and back-office clinical tasks, offering broad exposure to medical practice operations.

    The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while contributing to a team-based environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Patient Support & Front Office Duties

    • Greet patients and assist with check-in and check-out procedures
    • Collect and verify medical history, demographic, and insurance information
    • Schedule appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and manage provider schedules
    • Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner
    • Determine, collect, and process patient payments, and assist with billing or collection issues
    • Process prior authorizations, referrals, and medical orders
    • Provide patients with information to help them fully utilize clinic services
    • Maintain a welcoming, professional environment and convey a positive image of the clinic

    Clinical Assistance

    • Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures
    • Take and record vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and perform basic clinical tasks
    • Prepare exam rooms, set up instruments and equipment per protocol
    • Clean, disinfect, and restock exam and procedure rooms between patients in compliance with infection control standards
    • Perform basic medical tests and procedures as assigned

    Documentation & EHR Management

    • Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) and paper documentation
    • Ensure charts are complete, organized, and readily accessible for providers
    • Assist with medical documentation requests and records management

    Inventory & Equipment Management

    • Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment
    • Ensure proper storage, stocking, and availability of supplies
    • Coordinate equipment maintenance and report repair needs as necessary

    Quality & Compliance

    • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
    • Assist with audits, data collection, and compliance activities
    • Support clinic standards for patient safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance

    • Sick Leave: 40 hours annually
