Looking for a Medical Tech that would be able to work in our San Antonio/Castle Hills location. This position requires the technician to maintain positive relationships with patients, families, physicians, co-workers and management. Maintaining a positive attitude and relationship in the workplace creates an enthusiastic working environment and allows the company to put patients’ needs first. This job is also a marketing position. Fluency in Spanish is a must!

Hands-on clinical duties may include triage, to include taking and monitoring patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry and temperature. Computer skills are also a must!

Clinical procedures to include:

· Insert and remove IV’s

· Collect blood, urine, saliva and stool samples for laboratory analysis

· Perform laboratory diagnostic testing

· Perform 12-lead EKG’s

· Clean and prep wounds for suture/bandaging.

· Provide instruments to doctors and nurses as they perform procedures

Additional duties include:

· Sanitizing the POD and chairs after each use

· Stock the POD prior to end of shift with supplies

· Discard linens and trash in the appropriate container

· Discard laboratory specimens in appropriate biohazard waste containers

· File and inventory as needed.

Necessary skills for this position include:

· 1+ year experience starting IVs

· 1+ year experience drawing blood

· 1+ year monitoring and interpreting EKGs

· BLS Certification

· Paramedic or nursing coursework a plus.
